Dead Sea Salt,
good oils,
made on the Palestinian shore.
MILH is a body scrub of hand-harvested Dead Sea salt blended with jojoba and olive oil. A Palestinian cooperative makes every batch, and their name is on the jar.
Dead Sea Salt Body Scrub
Coarse Dead Sea salt in jojoba and olive oil. It exfoliates and leaves the oils behind, so you may not want lotion afterwards. Barely scented: olive oil and a little essential oil, nothing synthetic.
- Naturally contains magnesium, potassium and calcium
- Exfoliates and moisturizes in one step, rinses clean
- Five ingredients, all of them on the label
Harvested by hand
The salt is raked and dried on the shore, then blended within the week. The lot number on the label tells you which batch your jar came from.
Made by the cooperative
The people who harvest the salt are the people who blend it and fill the jars. Nothing here is white-labeled from a factory.
Bought direct
We buy directly from the cooperative at a price they set, with no purchasing brokers in between, and we pay in full before the jars ship.
Made on the shore it comes from.
Palestinian families along the Dead Sea have never had straightforward access to their own land and water. The cooperative has worked this shoreline for three generations anyway. They rake the salt by hand, dry it on the rocks, and blend it with oil the same week.
Buying the scrub pays them for that work, at a price they set, under their own name.

Day 5 Blend
تعاونية البحرSalt and oils are folded together by hand in the cooperative kitchen, forty jars to a batch.

Their name stays
on the jar.
Palestinian producers deal with closed markets, restricted movement, and goods that reach the shelf under somebody else's label. Every order keeps this cooperative working on its own shore and sells what they make as theirs.

Three steps, in the shower.
Scoop
Turn the water off and warm a good scoop between your palms. Take care — oils make the floor slippery.
Massage
Work it over damp skin in slow circles, shoulders down to feet, then leave it a minute.
Rinse
Rinse it off. The salt goes down the drain and the oils stay on your skin.
Caution: This product contains oils that make surfaces slippery. Hold a rail or steady yourself when using it in a shower or bath, and rinse the floor thoroughly afterwards. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not use on broken or irritated skin. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Five ingredients.
- Dead Sea saltملح البحر الميت
- Coarse grain, raked and dried on the shore. This is what does the exfoliating, and it carries the magnesium, potassium and calcium.
- Jojoba oilزيت الجوجوبا
- Carries the salt and stays on the skin after rinsing. Closest oil there is to what skin makes itself.
- Olive oilزيت الزيتون
- Pressed in the hills around Nablus. Softens the grain so the scrub works without scratching.
- Vitamin Eفيتامين هـ
- Keeps the oils from going rancid in a warm bathroom. That is the whole job.
- Essential oilزيت عطري
- A small amount, for a faint scent. No synthetic fragrance, no colorant, no preservative system.

Tatreez is Palestinian cross-stitch. Every region has its own motifs, and women have been reading each other's villages off these patterns for generations. Your jar comes wrapped in a printed square of it.

Things people ask
Is the salt really from the Dead Sea?
Yes. The cooperative harvests it on the shore in the Dead Sea basin. The lot number printed on the label tells you which batch and which week your jar came from.
Who makes it?
Our scrub is made by a small producers' cooperative that harvests the salt, blends it, and fills the jars.
What's in the family pack?
Five 250 g jars for $249.95, which works out at $49.99 a jar instead of $59.99. They ship together from the same batch, and shipping is free.
How often should I use it?
Two or three times a week is plenty. Start at once a week if your skin is on the sensitive side. If it doesn't suit you, contact us within 60 days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase price — you don't need to send the jar back. Original shipping charges are not refunded. See our refund policy for details.
How does it smell?
Faint and slightly green, from the olive oil and a small amount of essential oil. There is no synthetic fragrance in it, so it won't fight with your perfume.
